The Embrace EP

FEATURED FREE TRACK

One of Toronto’s most promising rising stars is a young musical prodigy by the name of Rene LaVice. The first artist signed to Stride Recordings dropped his debut and the label’s inaugural release “The Future” EP back in 2009 and quickly earned praise from Drum & Bass tastemakers globally. The singles “Save Me,” “Genesis,” and “Jolly Boatman VIP” turned many heads, including that of co-collaborator Gremlinz, as well as John Rolodex who joined forces with Rene to create the highly acclaimed Machinist Music label.  In 2 short years he has signed with a slew of labels from all corners of the globe, as well as receiving heavy support from some of the UK’s marquee DJs. Having been featured on Bailey’s syndicated 1xtra  program, his music has also found its way into several large club and festival sets from the likes of Andy C, Sub Focus and Loxy to name but a few. His buzz has been gaining serious momentum in his hometown of Toronto, where his DJing schedule has seen a rapid influx, a result of his compelling original productions coupled with his high energy live performances. Rene has proven that he is one of the most versatile producers in Canada at the moment, with tightly produced music ranging from deep-grooving Minimal to Electro-fused 2-step, dark and brooding amen-heavy Drumfunk to traditional soul-laced Liquid Funk. With such a solid and ever-growing body of work already under his belt, it is truly exciting to consider what the future holds for this budding boardsman.
