Ottawa native Dan Hargadon, better known as Override has been crafting music for over a decade, drawing heavy influence primarily from the liquid funk side of the Drum & Bass spectrum. Also a student of the deeper and darker neuro style and never one to shy away from electro-tinged dancefloor bangers, his style is an amalgamation of his eclectic taste. A gearhead by nature, Override has a penchant for hardware as opposed to using strictly software in his music. Analog synths are especially prevalent in his work, not to mention the various vocalists he has penned lyrics for and recorded original material from; much of which can be found throughout his releases. A prominent signature of his musical style is an uplifting bassline overtone accompanied by often funky drum patterns with light melodic leads providing the icing on the cake. One of Stride’s newer signees, Override has already delivered some of the label’s hottest and most acclaimed tracks including the chart topping “So Much.” It’s no wonder he was recently picked up by Blue Motion’s quickly rising Influenza Media imprint, which has also been making waves on a global scale.
