Canadian Drum and Bass will never be the same..

Evoking the sounds of countless Canadian drum and bass producers, this outlet promises to deliver a full variety of only the best in home grown jungle, jump up, liquid funk, dark, experimental, minimal & electro influenced drum and bass. Hand picked by the host and founder of the CCDNB podcast, these releases are already destined to be Canada's future Drum and Bass anthems!

Stride Recordings is a fresh new drum'n'bass label based out of Toronto, Canada, boasting original cutting edge production from some of the most diverse and talented artists this side of the Atlantic. Not your typical digital label, the primary long term goal of Stride is to expose the rest of the world to some of the most promising up & coming acts to emerge from Canada in quite some time.

One unique aspect of Stride Recordings is its lack of borders and walls when it comes to the genres that embody the label. From smooth liquid rollers to dancefloor smashing jump up, from the dark and techy to the minimal and funky, Stride offers up two guarantees with each release: quality and diversity.

The label was founded in 2009 by Toronto-based DJ Kapulet after receiving countless submissions for his highly acclaimed CCDNB podcast. After coming across dozens of amazing unsigned dubs and wondering how they could just slip under the radar, Kap decided to take matters into his own hands and get some of this great undiscovered music out and available to the general publc.

While Stride is based out of the city that many consider to be the epicenter of Canadian drum'n'bass, the label pays attention to detail in regards to what is happening throughout the entire country of Canada. The first 4 signees -- Vice LaVice, Schematic, Override and Spinlock -- hail from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver respectively. Upon building a solid buzz locally with a string of solid, well-received releases from its flagship artists, Stride landed a distribution deal that has since brought its releases to mediums such as iTunes and Beatport and increased its sales dramatically.

Building upon the positive buzz created by the first three releases – Vice LaVice’s “The Future EP”, Schematic’s “The London EP” and Override’s “The Saturn EP” – it was the debut release from Vancouver, BC’s Spinlock that cemented Stride Recordings’ place in the Canadian drum’n’bass circuit and abroad. “The Nerve Damage EP” received rave reviews from critics and consumers alike, quickly ascending to the top of the charts by locking down the #1 position on worldwide DNB staples D.O.A. (Dogs On Acid) and Track It Down, where it remained for a considerable stretch of time. Features in Kmag (Knowledge) and Playaz Online, combined with DJ support from heavyweights like Camo & Krooked, NC-17 and Gremlinz to name just a few furthered the local and global interest in the Stride movement soon thereafter.

The Stride roster continues to broaden its horizons by working with live vocalists in the studio to create compelling, undeniable compositions borrowing from all facets of music. Looking ahead, all four of the artists currently signed to the label have completed work on multiple EPs and singles awaiting release in the coming weeks and months. The massive single “Save Me” by Vice LaVice featuring vocalist Kier Edwards (and its VIP counterpart) has already been smashing sound systems and moving dancefloors across the globe months before its release. Also on the agenda are several compilation packs featuring bits showcasing the versatility of the various artists that make up the label.

The future of Canadian drum'n'bass has arrived.
